Neither tool is universally better. FSE wins when design tokens and long-term editor governance matter. Elementor wins when marketing needs pixel-level landers tomorrow. I usually recommend a hybrid: FSE for the product shell, Elementor (or a constrained builder) for campaign pages — with shared CSS variables so the brand never forks.

Escape everything, enqueue assets only when the widget renders, prefer Group_Control over ad-hoc CSS, and keep widget CSS on design tokens from the theme.

Inventory shortcodes, map to blocks, dual-render, train editors, then remove the builder. Treat it as a content migration, not a redesign.
